Desert Camp Setups Across the UAE

4.9/5 from 60 client reviews

We design and build mobile desert camps for private and corporate clients anywhere in the UAE: majlis seating, Bedouin-style tents, event staging, power and cooling. Crews travel from our Al Khatim base to Dubai, Al Ain, Liwa, Yas Island and Ras Al Khaimah, and strike the site the same night the event ends.

One crew, any site in the UAE

Sparkling Sandset built its production capability at Khayal Al Sahra Camp in Al Khatim, but the same crew and the same inventory of tents, decking and rigging travel to any site a client chooses. We have built majlis camps on private farms in Al Ain, staged corporate stages on Liwa dune ridges, and set Bedouin tent clusters on beach plots near Ras Al Khaimah and on Dubai's outer desert edge.

The build does not change with the location. What changes is the logistics plan: fuel and water resupply for multi-day sites, permits specific to that emirate's municipality, and 4x4 access routes for heavier stage components. We scope that before we quote, so the number you receive already accounts for distance and terrain.

What actually goes into a camp build

A camp is not a single tent. A typical mid-size build includes a majlis pavilion for arrival and seating, one or more Bedouin-style sleeping or lounge tents, a staging deck for entertainment or speeches, a generator bank sized to the lighting and catering load, and a flooring system that keeps the whole site level and walkable regardless of the sand underneath.

We use interlocking deck panels under carpet rather than laying carpet directly on sand, because sand shifts under foot traffic within a few hours and creates trip hazards by the second sitting. Side walls on tents are sewn, not clipped, so they hold against shamal gusts that can hit 40 km/h with little warning in spring.

  • Majlis pavilions from 20 to 300 seated guests
  • Bedouin tent clusters sized to 8, 20 or 40 guests per tent
  • Stage decks rated for live bands, DJs and speaker podiums
  • Certified rigging for lighting trusses and PA arrays

Mobile builds outside Abu Dhabi

For events in Dubai, Al Ain, Liwa, Yas Island or Ras Al Khaimah, we send a dedicated build team ahead of the guest arrival, usually one to two days for a mid-size camp and up to four days for a festival-scale build. Materials travel by flatbed and 4x4, and we coordinate directly with the venue or land owner on access windows.

Strike happens the same night for single-event camps, or the following morning for overnight stays. We remove all decking, cabling and matting and leave the site as it was found, which matters on farm land and private beach plots where the owner expects no trace.

Frequently asked questions

Can you build a desert camp outside Abu Dhabi?+

Yes. We regularly build in Dubai, Al Ain, Liwa, Yas Island and Ras Al Khaimah. Our crew and equipment travel from Al Khatim, and we handle the permits specific to whichever emirate the site sits in.

How long does a camp build take?+

A single majlis and dinner setup can be built in a day. Mid-size camps with staging and multiple tents need one to two days. Festival-scale builds with full rigging take three to four days.

Do you supply power and cooling?+

Yes. Silenced generators sized to the lighting, sound and catering load, with backup units on larger jobs. Enclosed tents can be fitted with spot coolers for daytime use.

Can tents be branded for a corporate client?+

Yes. Tent panels, entrance arches and stage backdrops can carry client branding, printed on removable sleeves so the base tent stock stays reusable.

What happens to the site after the event?+

We strike fully: tents, decking, cabling and matting are removed the same night or the following morning, and the ground is left as it was found.

How many guests can a single camp hold?+

From an intimate 10-guest majlis dinner up to a 900-guest festival-scale build with multiple tents and a full staged area.

How far in advance should we book a camp build?+

Two to three weeks for a small private setup, six to ten weeks for a staged corporate camp, and up to fourteen weeks for a festival-scale build requiring multi-emirate permits.
