Glamping & Overnight Desert Stays

Guests arrive in the late afternoon, before the light turns gold. There is time to settle into the tent, walk the dune line and take tea in the majlis before dinner is served around 19:30. The evening runs at a slower pace than a single-night event: a fire pit stays lit, there is no hard end time on the programme, and the camp quiets down naturally rather than being struck.

Tents are furnished, not staged. Beds are real beds on frames, not mattresses on the floor, and every en-suite tent has its own bathroom with a hot water shower, not a shared block down the path. That distinction matters more overnight than at a single dinner event, because guests are living in the tent for eight or more hours, not visiting it for two.

Each en-suite tent has a private bathroom with a flush toilet, basin and hot water shower fed from an insulated tank, so hot water is available through the night rather than only at set hours. Groups booking the shared bathhouse configuration get a serviced block with attendants present through the evening and morning rush.

Power runs continuously overnight from a generator sized for the group, with a quieter secondary unit specifically for the sleeping hours so tents near the generator bank are not disturbed. Air conditioning is standard in every en-suite tent, which matters more than most guests expect: desert nights in Al Khatim can still sit above 28 degrees for much of the year.

Most guests underestimate how good a desert sunrise is until they have sat through one. We offer an optional early call, usually 5:45, for guests who want a guided walk to the highest nearby dune, a short camel ride, or simply coffee served quietly at the camp edge before breakfast opens for everyone else at 7:30.

Breakfast is a full spread: eggs cooked to order, fresh bread, regional dishes like foul and shakshuka, fruit and Arabic coffee. Checkout is relaxed, typically by 10:00, and we handle transfer back to the city for guests who arrived without their own vehicle.
